Bookend Speaker

Winter 2024 | Functionality Meets Aesthetic Innovation

The bookend speaker design was a challenging yet rewarding project that pushed the boundaries of functionality and aesthetics. Starting with a speaker from Amazon, I removed the Raspberry Pi and used Rhino to 3D model a new speaker enclosure that perfectly fit the components while ensuring optimal performance. The original design features a short cylinder that transitions into a geometric shape, allowing it to function as a bookend.

This speaker was created to seamlessly blend into any modern home, so guests wouldn’t immediately recognize where the music was coming from. With its sleek, minimalist design, it occupies minimal shelf space, serving both as a functional bookend and a speaker. Its compactness ensures it doesn't clutter the space, while the design allows it to function as a multifunctional object that enhances any environment.
